Behavioral Analysis Detection Engine Behavioral analysis detects the following events:
Since the compute intensive video analysis is done by Eptascape VCA units connected to a server over the network and communicating the metadata annotations they generated, server-side software performing behavioral analysis is lightweight and can handle any number of simultaneous behavior detections from many VCA units simultaneously. Hardware requirements for the Detection Engine to perform behavioral analysis of up to 10 video sources are such that in many cases the same server hardware can be shared with a DVR Server or a complete video management software. The Detection Engine provides an easy-to-use and intuitive browser interface for setting up behaviors and schedules. A browser is used from any connected PC to access the Detection Engine software, to setup video sources and behaviors, and to monitor events. For integration with third-party software, the Detection Engine implements a comprehensive API to interact with other applications. Detected events are communicated to an external application and also stored in an internal SQL database. Eptascape products for video analytics are based on the separation of video content analysis from its interpretation as two very distinct steps. Video content analysis, as performed by Eptascape, employs the science of Computer Vision to extract content in real-time from a video source; interpretation makes sense of the results obtained. The first step, video analysis, is performed by embedded software running on compatible Video Content Analysis (VCA) hardware for optimal performance and high scalability. Eptascape VCA units produce XML network streams with annotations (metadata) that describe video content in the form of standard MPEG-7 descriptors. |
