Video Content Analysis Hardware

The MPEG-7 real-time encoder embedded software is the core of Eptascape Video Content Analysis (VCA) products. Able to perform key processing for video analysis inside dedicated DSP hardware modules and producing results as MPEG-7 metadata network streams in XML, Eptascape VCA products offer high scalability, reliability and lower cost at a guaranteed performance level.

VCA hardware, enabled with the Eptascape embedded software, can process one or two simultaneous video streams from analog or network digital camera inputs and produce MPEG-7 compliant annotations (metadata) at a rate of 10 and 25 frames per second. The MPEG-7 annotations in XML format are encapsulated in a HTTP stream and processed by server-side software, such as the Eptascape Detection Engine for behavioral analysis and event detection.

Video Content Analysis units capable of running the Eptascape MPEG-7 embedded encoder are currently available from Eptascape and Axis:

Eptascape VCA units accommodate multiple video sources, NTSC or PAL analog video, or Motion-JPEG streams from a network cameras. Eptascape VCAs support all Axis network cameras and video servers and IP cameras from Panasonic, Pixord and Sony.

Additional Partner Opportunities with Axis IVS Server

The Axis 242-IVS Video Server needs to be pre-loaded with the Eptascape MPEG-7 encoder. Eptascape OEM software partners may license the embedded MPEG-7 encoder software to use with the Axis 242 IVS Video Server hardware.

Eptascape OEM hardware partners also may license the MPEG-7 embedded software encoder for the Texas Instrument TMDSEVM6446 (Da Vinci) evaluation board and the Texas Instrument TMDSEVM642 evaluation board or license to use with their own TI DSP hardware.
